Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026 · A lawyer should review this page before Violet launches publicly.

Violet exists for your most private thoughts. This policy explains, in plain language, what we keep, why we keep it, and how you stay in control. Short version: your words are yours. We never sell them, never show them to advertisers, and never share them with other users — there are no other users who can see them, period.

What we store

  • Your email address — so you can sign in with a magic link. Nothing else is required to use Violet.
  • Your conversations — your messages and Violet's replies, so your chat continues where you left off.
  • Your Notebook memories — the facts Violet remembers (your name, your baby's name, what's hard), so she can know you over time.
  • Basic usage counts — how many messages you've sent this hour, only to keep the service fair for everyone.

Who sees your words

  • You. Your conversations are private to your account.
  • Our AI provider (currently OpenAI), which processes your messages to generate Violet's replies. API providers do not use your data to train their models, per their API terms.
  • No one else. We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or other users.
  • The law, if forced. If we receive a valid legal order, we may be required to disclose data. We will narrow any disclosure as much as legally possible.

Your controls

  • Forget anything: open your Notebook and delete individual memories anytime.
  • Start fresh: one tap erases every memory and your entire conversation history.
  • Delete your account: email us and we'll delete your account and all associated data.

A few honest notes

  • Violet is for adults (18+). She's designed for new moms, but anyone grown may use her.
  • We keep only basic technical logs (like sign-in events) to keep the service running — never the content of your confessions in logs.
  • If you ever feel unsafe about your data here, tell us. Privacy isn't a feature of Violet; it's the whole point.

⚖️ Note from the team: this policy was written in plain language for real humans. Before public launch, an attorney should review it for compliance (including state privacy laws and any requirements specific to wellness products).
