Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026 · A lawyer should review these terms before Violet launches publicly.
Welcome. These terms are the ground rules for using Violet. We wrote them the way Violet talks — plainly.
1. What Violet is (and isn't)
Violet is an AI companion for comfort, conversation, and perspective. She is not a therapist, counselor, doctor, or crisis service, and nothing she says is medical, mental-health, or professional advice. If you need professional support, please reach it — we keep one-tap resources on the Support page.
2. Who can use Violet
You must be 18 or older. One account per person; please don't share your sign-in link — your conversations are private to you, and sharing the link shares them.
3. Be kind to the service
Don't try to break Violet, scrape the service, probe other users' data, or use the service for anything unlawful. Free accounts are limited to a fair number of messages per hour; paid plans (coming soon) raise those limits.
4. Your words stay yours
You own what you write. You give us permission to store and process it only to run Violet for you (including sending it to our AI provider to generate replies). See the Privacy Policy for the full picture, including how to delete everything.
5. Honest limits
Violet is software and she makes mistakes. She may misunderstand you, and her perspective is not a substitute for your judgment or a professional's. We provide the service "as is" and can't promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for decisions you make based on a chat with an AI friend.
6. Changes
We may update these terms as Violet grows (for example, when paid plans launch). We'll note the update date above, and big changes will be announced in the app.
⚖️ Note from the team: these terms were drafted in plain language. Before public launch, an attorney should review them — especially the health-related disclaimers, limitation of liability, and subscription terms.
